This is probably my first time to do a site review. And it’s going to be big because our maiden issue is about the company who brought my favorite game of all time- Ragnarok Online. Today we will be checking out Level Up Games and let’s see what makes it appealing to its gamers. Our review contains different categories to show how far the website fared against our standards through a system of candy points. Excited enough? Read on. *wink*

Sexiness
The Level Up site is a very appealing site as it gives off vivid graphical experience, you’ll get a dilemma where to actually go first. The links are well organized now, and to my taste it’s not cluttered because the links will lead to the information and updates a player needs. Because of the overhaul and lots of upgrade than the previous appearance, I’m giving the site four candy points.

Update Factor
One, if not the most, important factor for a site to be informative is constant updating of facts and news. This is one of the main issues that has been cleared, and I think this is one of the best upgrades of the site from its previous schemes. Updates will keep the player aware of what’s hot and what’s not in the game they are in together with the latest in the system upgrades or upcoming patches. The “constant update thing” will never go wrong, and will not let a player hanging from nowhere. Five candy points for the successful updating scheme. =D

Eye Candy
The Level Up Games website is a graphical fireworks display with all the flashing advertisements promoting the games to the good color combination. I think it was a wise palette choice to choose black-graphite background to make the fiery scheme of the game advertisements stand out. Well besides, background is supposed to be found at the back. [Lol >.<]. For the Eye Candy Factor, I’m giving the site four candy points.

The Verdict
Providing fresh information without sacrificing visual quality and interactivity. The new and improved Level Up Games site proved its worth to pass our standards. We’re just hoping it will be in a constant roll of updates for the benefit of the players, and possibly newcomers. I would like to suggest constant site face lift as well, not because it’s a girl thing but a site that constantly shifts to the needs of its users may need constant upgrade and getup change as well. A good-looking site today may be a turnoff in a while because it is always the same thing you’re seeing.

Sexiness
Update Factor
Eye Candy

That was fun. And I hope you had a great time reading the post as well. Stay tuned for more updates. *bows*

HP: 120,000, Size: Small, Prop: Neutral

Guardian Stones are the first line of defense of a WoE SE Agit. Each WoE SE agit has (2) Guardian Stones. As long as either of these two stones are standing, an invincible barrier will prevent attackers from going past the first barricade. These stones are tough, but they can be targeted with skills as well as regular attacks. If both Guardian Stones are destroyed, the main gate will not be returned until both stones are restored.

Guardian Stones also spawn the powerful WoE SE Guardians which are every bit as tough as the Guardians found in Thor’s Volcano. Even if the Guardians are destroyed, as long as the Guardian Stone is functional, it will eventually spawn more. If a Guardian Stone is destroyed, the Guardians that it spawns will vanish.

A Guardian Stone can be repaired after it has been destroyed. Any player on the defending guild can repair a Guardian Stone assuming he has the following items:

• 30 Stone
• 1 Oridecon
• 1 Elunium • 5 Blue Gemstone
• 5 Red Gemstone
• 5 Yellow Gemstone

Barricades

HP: 600,000
Size: Large
Prop: Neutral

Barricades provide a second form of defense for the WoE SE agits. Each agit has (3) areas protected by these. Barricades are made out of 4-8 huge pillars and prevent anyone from crossing unless every single one of the pillars are destroyed. Barricade pillars have even more HP than the Guardian Stones, but they can also be targeted by skills as well as regular attacks. They can also be healed.

A Guild master can repair these barricades (regular guild members cannot repair them) by bringing items to a control NPC which is always located near the barricade. Here is the list of items needed to repair a barricade:

• 30 Trunk
• 10 Steel
• 10 Emvertarcon
• 5 Oridecon

Guardians

WoE SE Guardians are much tougher and more powerful than their regular WoE counterparts. They are on par with the same monsters found in Thor’s Volcano and they can easily destroy an unprepared guild that charges at them.

They automatically respawn as long as the Guardian Stones are intact. If the Guardian Stones are gone, however, they will disappear as well. The higher the Defense rating of an agit, the more Guardians will be spawned.

Guild Flags

Unlike the WoE flag system where you can only get inside one area of the guild from the flag outside the agit, the WoE SE Flag system allows you to enter the Emperium room directly from the outside. In this area you will find many flags that lead to different parts of the agit and guildmembers can travel to and from these points anytime they want.

This makes a defending guild highly mobile in terms of defense as long as the members are familiar with the agit and the locations where each flag leads to.

WoE SE Maps and Agits

There are 10 new agits to conquer in WoE SE. The agits of Schwarzwald can be found after entering the portal in the lower left of Juno as depicted in the mini-map image below:

The agits of Arunafeltz are located two maps south from Rachel. Just follow the mini-maps below:

A million thanks to all of our visitors all over the world. We’re proud and happy at the same time and expect more updates in store. Fulfilling a goal and reaching for it just feels overwhelming for me. So again, thank you. n.n

By the way, we will be having major Ragnarok-based articles on the next few days as our participation in Level Up!’s Event. This won’t be possible without the collaboration with SniperAngel and his gaming and primary domain sites. Very much excited for this challenge and I hope we’ll win. n.n

Again thank you. Next stop: 100,000 views @.@;

This is a sequel to my post on some useful stats and skills for the High Priest jobclass in Ragnarok Online. In this post we will talk about equipments and other tips on how to power play your High Priest. As in the first part, we have Skeelo, a Philippine Ragnarok Online High Priest with tournament experiences, as resource person.

AS: What are the recommended priest equips for tournaments when there is a no-boss card, no immune, limited potions rule? Discuss the cards and the equips you recommend.
Skee: For headgear, the recommended equipment is either Poo Poo Hat or Feather Beret. Any headgear actually, as long as it reduces damages taken from demi humans by a percentage, example 10%. You can also use Drooping Kitty that gives 15 Magic Defense and tolerance against frozen status.

For armor, Silk Robe is the best because of its additional 10 Magic Defense, not to mention a slot where you can compound a card suitable for you in PVP, WOE or Tournament. For Weapon, rod is very useful when compounded with four cards of Drops Cards or Fabre Cards depending on your build. If your Priest is lacking in Vit or HP due to excess of other stats, a quadruple carded rod will be useful in battle or leveling.

I recommend you compound 4 pieces of Fabre Cards.

And, for lessening the casting time, Drop Cards

For shield, a slotted buckler must be compounded with a Thara Frog Card because it gives 30% less damage taken from demi humans. For your garment, a Muffler with a Raydric Card is the best for tournaments since most of the damage that you’re gonna take is a neutral property.

For Footgear, I recommend slotted shoes compounded with Matyr Card for a better boost of HP and SP or you can also use a Crystal Pumps to protection against frozen status (useful since Frost Jokes and Storm Gust are widely used in tournaments).

For accessories, Hiding Clip or Hiding Rosary is best, depending also on the rules of the tournament. If hiding is restricted, A no-slot Rosary or a Nimble Rosary will do, and will protect from frozen Status because of the +5 Magic Defense. Zerom Card will at least lessen the time and delay of casting support skills.

AS: In a 2 on 2 PVP battle, What is a priest’s best choice of other character to support? Why?
Skee: A Wizard. This jobclass is very powerful but they have low HP and killing them is very easy, so they need support the most.

Wizards can also dictate the outcome of the battle because of their magical spells, support spells and status spells such as Storm Gust, Frost Diver, Frost Nova, Garbantein and Napalm Vulcan. These are only some of the reasons why they are very important, especially in a tournament. They can at least hold or freeze a bunch of opponents, making it easy for team mates to pick off the enemies one by one.

—-

And there you have it, Folks, wonderful tips and tricks for power playing your High Priest and Priest in Ragnarok Online. Thanks so much, Skee, for the amazing input.

Our resource person for this round of tips on how to use a priest in tournament level Ragnarok Online playing is Skeelo, a.k.a. NastyGirl, playing a priest character in Philippine Ragnarok Online for 5 years. If you want to jobchange into a priest but don’t know how to, here’s the link to our guide on jobchanging from acolyte to priest.

Part I: Stats and Skills

AS: Hi Skee. So which priest skills are most useful during guild battle?
Skee: Hi Alessa. There are many! But the two must-have skills for a support priest are Safety Wall and Sanctuary. These and the rest of the other skills make your guild or partymates more stable during battle, whether in offense or defense.

AS: Is high Vitality still important in a Party Priest?
Skee: Vitality is very important not only to a priest but to all classes in Ragnarok, because the higher your Vit is, the more immunity you have to Stun and Silence. Not to mention the fact that it gives good defense as well as being capable of surviving in long battles.

AS: What skills should not be forgotten when building a tournament style priest? Why?
Skee: A tournament-style priest MUST have the following skills, and more importantly, must assign hotkeys to access these skills quickly:

Blessing

Lex Aeterna

Suffragium and

I did not include Heal and Increase Agility as the most important skills because party mates in a tournament have healing potions. Casting Increase Agility on all your party mates only wastes the time of casting other support buffs particularly when in a tournament, when the time pressure is high and all important status buffs must be cast before the main clash is on.

AS: Stay tuned for the second part of our Tournament priest tips series! More to come! Next things we will discuss are Equipments and Cards for Tournament Priests!

Contributed by SniperAngel in cooperation with Alessa Silver
I can still remember those days when Juno was launched- 2-2 Job Classes are finally available. The Crusader and Monk testing areas are so congested as well as the Sage exam room. When I went to the Alchemist guild in Aldebaran it was almost deserted and I only saw few players there. The main reason behind this flop is the nerfing-right-before-implementing skills of the said class, it was stated before that the homunculus should be implemented in Juno but it was later cancelled out of the skill tree.

But look at Alchemists now, you can find one anywhere- at towns, at MVP spawn points, everywhere. The population boom started when Acid Bomb, a Biochemist skill brought the house down and grinded it into bits.

Am I ranting? No. There’s nothing we can do about it. In fact I’m going to share a build which was already proven safe and effective, just like your moisturizing cream. This build has been running for about a year now. What makes it special? Well, how about starting as an Alchemist and transcending into a Biochemist as fast as five weeks? Unattainable?

Honestly at first I thought it was. Not until the prototype was put into materialization. Starting from a 12/10 Novice to a 60/1 Biochemist it did took 36 days, or 5 weeks and 1 day.

Got your attention? Stay for my suggestions for the alchemist build that will get you to being a Biochemist faster than you expected. Whether via bot or manually.

The Build
•	The build is with job and equipment bonuses already. Sure, it does have low HP [Alchemists have lower HP multiplier than your Assassin or Knight] but having low HP doesn’t mean high mortality.

•	The build won’t be able to contend with hardcore brewers, but it can brew enough potions to be able to survive in the field.

•	The build isn’t as sturdy as the classic tank types, because the goal here is speed levelling for transcendence. If you have a different goal then this is not the guide for you. [But we’ll make one for that ^^]

The Stats
Strength- 81+4[Crazy Uproar]+5[Alchemist Job Bonus]= 90
Agility- 84+6[Alchemist Job Bonus]= 90
Vitality- 37+3[Alchemist Job Bonus]= 40
Intelligence- 17+7[Alchemist Job Bonus]= 24
Dexterity- 51+9[Alchemist Job Bonus]= 60
Luck- 3+0= 3

Stat Rationalization
As you can see the STR and AGI levels are equal. Why not max it out? Because maxing it out will compromise the build so much it won’t be that effective anymore. Who needs a build that dies faster than the time it takes to kill a thing?

INT is set to 24, just enough to establish good SP regeneration capability. The DEX is on above average distribution to amplify offensive capability and brewing success chance. Nevermind the LUK though.

Equipment
Another build feature is equipment autonomy. Dress the way you want and you won’t lose your effectiveness. Add more spice to the mix and you’ll enhance an already good character. Just equip the things you want to complement the build and you’re good to go.

Conclusion
This is just a suggestion and I’m not forcing you to use it. All we have here, together with the author of this site is to help aspiring Biochemists to reach their goals faster. Still, don’t hesitate to try new things- just like the basis of Alchemy.

What is it about the stance of an Assassin Cross that brings chill to the heart of anyone he might chance upon in an isolated PVP room? Is it that with the coming of the recent patches their power has increased tenfold and now they are killing machines… sadistic killing machines?

What does a normal player do to fight a powerful sinX in a one on one battle?

Here are some tips!

The same guy, BC (cerealicious-ph), who made the sinX skills guide came up with these tips on how to fight (or at least survive) a Player vs. Player fight against an Assassin Cross.

Damage Reduction Tips

How to decrease Soul Destroyer’s damage:

1. Pneuma (complete SD miss)
2. Kaupe (same as 1)
3. Assumptio (33.3% physical + “magical” reduction)
4. Thara Frog Card (30% physical + “magical” reduction)
5. Poopoo Hat (10% physical + “magical” reduction)
6. Appropriate Carded Garment (dependent on enemy’s element use)
7. Alligator Accessories (5% physical reduction)
8. Flee (complete miss of physical part)
9. Wall of Fog (skill failed)
10. Long Mace (10% physical reduction, for aco class only)

How to decrease Enchant Deadly Poison’s damage:

1. Safety Wall (melee attack miss)
2. Kaupe (blocks targeted attacks)
3. Assumptio (33.3% reduction)
4. Thara Frog Card (30% reduction)
5. Poopoo Hat (10% reduction)
6. Appropriate Carded Garment (dependent on enemy’s element use)
7. Over Upgrades (damage reduction versus non def-ignoring skills)
8. Appropriate Armor (Ghostring for neutral property, Argiope or Evil Druid for poison property)
9. Flee (melee attack miss)
10. Wall of Fog (skill failed but normal attacks do not miss)
11. Auto Guard (chance for attack or skill to miss)

I know what you are thinking. This is supposed to be a Homunculus-related post, but what are these Assassin’s doing around here? I dunno myself, but they’re cute and Lifs are cute too so I think that’s allowed.

But enough of the mush, this is going to be a short informative post about the first of a four part Homunculus detailing series. I intended to do this to settle the score, which is which and what is the final verdict.

Lifs: In General. During those times that Lighthalzen is still new and everything is still exploring how to make their way through the Somathology Lab, Lifs are already available. But due to their 200% cuteness, they only serve as flower stands on vending Alchemists or Biochemists- serving the sole purpose of decoration. But if not for the brave trainers who are willing to explore each potential, Lifs are found to be one of the best homunculus of all four types.

The Good. Lifs are cute. They can literally make your character agile because of one skill that works like Nitro. Lifs can support you in battle by restoring HP, and ultimately- Lifs can kill. The last one is an eye-opener, but believe me we’ve killed many Transcendent Classes before which are much much stronger than the Homunculus itself.

What’s in the Box. Lifs have four skills, three of them are acquired by default and one will be unlocked after evolving your Lif and attaining Loyal status again.

Healing Hands restores average about of HP and uses one Red Slim Potion upon skill use. This skill proves its worth on the latter part of your Lifs life as INT affects is efficacy.

Urgent Escape is one of the main reasons why Lif owners get 50% more survivability than those who don’t own one. Why? Urgent Escape has the effect of 20 speed potions [or probably more]. Not that it stacks, but the duration is very good compared to your speed potion that lasts only for a second or two.

Brain Surgery is a passive skill that increases Healing Hands restoration rate and max SP of the Lif. Pretty basic for us and a necessity as well.

Mental Charge is the nuke and the main reason why Lifs can kill. It converts magical attack power into physical form, delivering powerful blows each and everytime. Though other skills cannot be used while on Mental Charge mode, you can simply juggle Call and Rest commands and you’re rolling. Mental Charge damage is reduced by Defense. It can inflict as much as 1600 [depending on growth] and about 600~700 in pvp rooms. And yes, it can kill a Vanilmirth or any other Homunculus in less than 10secs.

The Bad. The only thing I hate about Lifs, weak starting point. Lifs have relatively low attack power, but that’s fine if you have enough patience for evolution. Basically this is the only reason why Lif aficionados or fans get annoyed, resulting deletion of Lifs who are potentially fatal in the field.

Now the only thing that I’m worried about will be the cultural [not to mention language barriers] differences of both countries. But that won’t matter that much since we play the same game anyway so I hope the merge will work well.

Upon the launch of Nameless Patch, there are so many things I seem to miss because Midgard is so huge already @_@. I miss the easily seen rendezvous points before because the only towns those times are Prontera, Izlude, Geffen, Payon, Alberta and Morroc. Now what? We can get lost easily and the quests, items are sooo encyclopaedic. I mean, we’re brainfrozen because of constant updates. But it is good for those who seek good adventure.
